영화 독전 진서연 악역위해 영유아 관찰
영화 ‘독전’에서 빌런으로 등장한 진서연이 악역을 소화하기 위해 아이들을 관찰했다고 밝혀 그 배경을 궁금케 했다.
지난 10일 방송된 MBC ‘라디오스타’는 ‘흥행메이트’ 특집으로 꾸며져 배우 진서연, 최덕문, 박명훈, 박경혜가 게스트로 출연했다.
진서연은 ‘독전’ 속 마약 밀매업자 파트너를 연기할 때 “4-5살 아이들을 관찰했다”며 메소드 연기의 배경을 전했다.
진서연은 영화 ‘독전’에서 마약 밀매업자의 파트너 역할을 소화해 신선한 충격을 안긴 바 있다. 그는 이 연기로 대종상영화제, 올해의 영화상 등 국내 영화제에서 여우조연상을 수상하기도 했다.
이어 그는 ‘독전’ 후 은퇴까지 고려했다며 작정하고 간 ‘독전’ 오디션에서 제작진에게 “약 종류에 따라 신체 반응이 다른데, 어떤 약을 쓴 거냐. 그 설정에 맞춰서 내가 연기를 하겠다고 했다”고 밝혀, 연기에 대한 진심을 나타내 감탄을 자아냈다.
또한 진서연은 악당이 되기 위해 아이들을 연구했다고 밝혀 눈길을 끌었다.
그는 “악당은 자기가 악당이라고 생각을 안 한다. ‘독전’ 속 캐릭터를 어떻게 진짜처럼 연기할까 고민했다. 주변에서 찾다가 4-5살 아이들을 떠올렸다. 그 친구들은 눈이 뒤집히고 땀 범벅 돼서 완전 하이 텐션으로 논다”며 특이한 설정을 가진 캐릭터에 몰입하기 위해 연기하는 순간만큼은 완벽하게 아이로 변신했다고 밝혀 완벽한 빌런 캐릭터를 구현할 수 있었던 비결을 전했다.
