코미디언 김신영이 고(故) 송해의 뒤를 이어 KBS 1TV 장수 예능 '전국노래자랑'의 새 MC로 발탁됐다.

29일 KBS는 "송해 선생님을 잇는 '전국노래자랑' 후임 MC로 김신영이 선정됐다. 새 MC 김신영은 10월 16일 방송을 시작으로 '전국노래자랑'을 이끌 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
'전국노래자랑'은 1988년 5월부터 34년 동안 국민 MC 송해의 진행으로 전 국민의 희로애락을 함께 해왔다. 그러나 송해가 지난 6월 8일 세상을 떠나면서 34년 만의 새로운 MC 체제를 맞이하게 됐고, 후임 MC가 누가 될 것인지 초미의 관심이 쏠렸다.

새 MC 자리에는 김신영이 올랐다. 2003년 SBS 7기 공채 개그맨으로 데뷔한 김신영은 라디오 '정오의 희망곡 김신영입니다' DJ 등을 맡아 진행자로서 역량을 뽐냈다.
그는 아이돌 그룹 셀럽파이브, 가수 둘째 이모 김다비 등으로도 활약했으며 최근에는 영화 '헤어질 결심'에 출연해 연기력을 인정받기도 했다.
이와 관련해 김상미 CP는 "김신영은 데뷔 20년 차의 베테랑 희극인으로 TV, 라디오뿐 아니라 최근에는 영화계에서도 인정하는 천재 방송인"이라며 "무엇보다 대중들과 함께하는 무대 경험이 풍부해 새로운 전국노래자랑 MC로서 매우 적합하다고 생각했다"고 설명했다.
이어 "송해 선생님의 후임이라 어깨가 무겁겠지만 잘해 낼 것이라고 생각한다. 김신영이 보여 줄 새로운 전국노래자랑에 많은 기대 부탁드린다"고 덧붙였다.
김신영은 "'전국노래자랑'과 함께 자라온 제가 후임 진행자로 선정돼 가문의 영광"이라며 "앞으로 전국 팔도의 많은 분과 소통하고 열심히 배우겠다. 전통에 누가 되지 않게 정말 열심히 즐겁게 진행하고 싶다. 말로 표현 못할 만큼 감사하고 또 감사하다"고 소감을 전했다.

Kim Shin young said, "It is an honor for my family that I have been selected as a successor to the National Singing Contest," adding, "I will communicate with many people in Paldo and learn hard from now on."
